But each horse and rider team are different and are at different places on the path to those goals. So, we try to work with each team to identify how best to proceed toward success. In addition to the Clinics we schedule at our facility, if you would like to host a Clinic, we can come to your barn or facility.

The Team
Trent & Pat Benton
With over 40 years of experience working & training horses, Trent Benton has the knowledge and skills to share with you and your horse to help you both achieve success – together. His experiences range from Civil War re-enactments, Roping & Competitive Team Penning to successfully competing in the Mustang Makeover and becoming certified through the WDAA Train the Trainer program in Western Dressage.
Pat Benton brings her experience to add to the dynamic of the Star’s Peak Valley Training Programs. She’s earned her Certificate in Equine Science and is an active Horse Show Judge in NC, SC and VA. Pat also serves on the Boards of Directors for the North Carolina Quarter Horse Association and the North Carolina Horse Council.
Hannah Cargill
Hannah joined SPVR in March 2020. She’s earned a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Studies degree from Lees–McRae College, but continues to be a true student of the horse. Having ridden since she was small, she came to us with a lot of natural talent. With every horse we work, her skills increase, making her a valuable member of the Team. Her aspirations are “to continue improving and become well-rounded in different disciplines” and “to assist every horse she works with reach its true potential”.
